As a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician in the Greater Washington Area, most of my patients have special education needs. For consultation and advocacy, I have regularly referred to Suzie Keith Blattner. Over the years, with wisdom and compassion, she has served many hundreds of children and their parents She knows how to navigate the special education process. She knows our area schools. And most importantly, she knows children. In child development, there are few things more important than getting the school right. Nobody does that better than Suzie. I recommend her without reservation and with whole-hearted appreciation.

It is a great pleasure for me to write this endorsement of Suzie Keith Blattner, special education advocate who has been a long time colleague for over 30 years, 20 of these at ITS for Children and Families (also known as ITS:PALSS) in Kensington, Maryland. I have been very impressed by Ms. Blattner's exceptional knowledge of children's learning styles, developmental processes, and educational techniques and classroom strategies used to foster the child's emotional and cognitive growth. Her approach to working with children and families is highly compassionate and humanistic. Families seeking her help feel understood and helped during a very difficult time in their lives when seeking the right school placement for their child. Ms. Blattner has a strong commitment to assuring that each child's individual special needs are properly addressed in as comprehensive way as possible in public or private educational and therapeutic settings. Not only does Ms. Blattner have an extensive knowledge of the educational placement process, but she personally invests emotional support to the child and family to assure that the process goes as smoothly as possible. Anybody working with Ms. Blattner is truly fortunate to have her resourceful and supportive assistance and knowledge.
