Advocacy
Our advocates are highly trained special educators who are familiar with the regulations governing a students rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Americans with Disabilities ACT (ADA). We are NOT attorneys nor do we claim to offer legal services.
Advocacy is a part of the Educational Consultation process for families who are exploring whether their child might be eligible for an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 plan.
We provide an objective review of the case and form opinions based on a thorough review of documentation and observation of the student. We do not rubber stamp a decision or recommendation made by another professional. We review and consider all information that is provided and make our own recommendations based on the review.
The major role we play as advocates is to support families at meetings that are governed by regulations to ensure that the process is as it should be and students rights are respected throughout.
As consultants and advocates, we collaborate with other professionals who may be involved in the case. We pride ourselves in our approach which is governed by maintaining professionalism even when there is a disagreement.
Our consultation services are á la carte. No two families have the same needs. We provide the level of support you feel you require to reach your end goal.
